- Flights from Chennai to Malé take about 2 hours (direct or via Colombo/Bengaluru, depending on the season).
- Visa
- Indian passport holders can enter visa-free (up to 90 days) with a confirmed hotel booking and return ticket; the online arrival form is filed before travel. Rules change often. We confirm the latest requirement when you book and help with the paperwork.
- Money
- US dollars are used in resorts; the local currency is the rufiyaa (MVR).
- Good to know
- Transfer costs vary a lot by resort and are often charged per person. Alcohol is available only on resort islands.

Speedboat resorts near Malé are cheaper and you can arrive at any time. Seaplane resorts are further out, quieter and have better reefs, but seaplanes fly only in daylight.
