- Train or flight from Chennai to Coimbatore, then a 3-hour drive. The Nilgiri Express runs overnight to Mettupalayam for the toy train.
- Good to know
- Weekends and May are crowded; weekdays are more relaxed. Carry warm clothes in winter.
